Herman Witkam - Composing in layers for modern dance

Herman demonstrates in real-time how he builds up a music cue for a modern dance film. Starting from muted guitar chords, he adds instrument by instrument, like a bass drum, kalimba, the ronroco, and some extra strings in order for the music to work up to its climax.

In addition, Herman shows how to use instruments in specific genres, like horror and epic films. The interview ends with Herman discussing the theoretical ideal project.
