School of Sound - 2023

The School of Sound is back in business again!

announcements by School of Sound

Hello. We're back.

After a pause since the last School of Sound symposium in 2019, we've restructured the SOS as an online resource along with our new website. Here you'll find a programme of talks and short courses, a forum for teaching and our archive of articles and recordings. It is now live at schoolofsound.co.uk.

Our aim is to build on the work we started in 1998, exploring the creative use of sound across media and the arts. And to go further, examining sound as sound and the way it operates in and around our lives.

On the website you’ll find Online Events - Our programme of talks and short courses to be held throughout the year – in its early stages but growing quickly.

Read, Look, Listen - A library of peer-reviewed articles, essays, audio recordings and videos from the School of Sound conferences.

Teaching - A forum for those who teach sound - in all its forms - to share their methods and insights. We now have the opportunity to reach a wider, more diverse audience, while creating the same environment to exchange ideas as we did in our previous conferences.

Join us at schoolofsound.co.uk. We look forward to seeing you.
