Other information can be found on this page or on the public page about the competition
At the bottom of this page is a sample list of AI tools for inspiration
What must or may I do?
You compose a soundtrack for the video that you can download above. The interpretation of the video is entirely up to you and no matter what kind of soundtrack you make for it: there is no limit to styles and you can use all forms of audio, including sound effects. The starting point is that you use AI tools as much as possible and that you share with us how you used AI for your composition and which AI tool(s) you used. We understand that other existing composition resources (paper, other hardware to software) may be necessary for your completion.
With which AI tools can you work?
With all of them. Given the speed of developments, it is not possible to know or recommend all AI tools available for making music and sound. We have added a list at the bottom of this page for you with AI tools that we know have been used for music development up to the start of this competition.
What should you submit?
1 - Provide the film fragment with your soundtrack (mp4/mov/avi).
2 - A separate audio file containing your soundtrack (wav/mp3).
3 - A detailed explanation of how you used AI tools in your composition process (PDF).

What if I am nominated?
In all cases, we are of course happy that you want to participate in the competition and we see the competition mainly as a challenge to see what AI can do for you as a media composer.
Unfortunately, not everyone can win: In May 2024 we will inform all participants who have been nominated for the Private Kitchen AI Composition Competition 2024 Award. The jury chooses 3 nominees who qualify as the final winner. The nominees will be invited and receive access to the BMiM event (in May / June 2024, to be announced soon).
Once the date and location of this event are known, Private Kitchen will let you know, or check buma-music-in-motion.nl for new announcements.
During this event, the winner of the competition will be announced and the film fragment with the winner's music will be shown. We may then publish the video on the Private Kitchen Youtube channel and report the results on privatekitchen.nl.
