Apply for the MSCN Film Music Festivals Academy Mentorship Programme 2025
MSCN Film Music Festivals Academy opens its applications for the 3rd edition of the MSCN Film Music Festivals Academy Mentorship Programme!
Since 2019, MSCN Film Music Festivals Academy focuses on improving the professional qualifications of aspiring media music composers and get them ready to introduce themselves to the professional industry at major European film music festivals. Through online group sessions, intensive 1-2-1 mentorship sessions and active projects in collaboration with the leading European film music festivals, the 4-month Mentorship Programme is a unique education initiative that has been making real positive impacts on the career objectives of its mentees.
Mentees of this programme have been gaining access to important film music industry events at Soundtrack_Cologne (Germany), Soundtrack_Zurich (Switzerland), Festival du Film d’Aubagne (France), Krakow Film Music Festival (Poland), and Harpa Film Music Days/Berlin International Film Festival (Germany). Furthermore, the programme trains mentees to look at their own career objectives, discover their “blind spots," and improve their interpersonal skills to prepare them for meeting the industry professionals there.
The programme is aimed at all levels of emerging media musicians, but is designed to especially complement recent graduates of media music programmes taking the “leap” into the professional world, while also supporting experienced and self-taught media composers. The programme is led by Dr. Yati Durant, composer, conductor, and former Programme Director of the MSC in Composition for Screen at the University of Edinburgh. The mentoring team also includes prominent international composers, and professionals, such as Jeff Rona, Magnus Strömberg, Dr. Rens Machielse, Fehmi Gerçeker, and Irya Gmeyner. The programme’s objective is to be participated by 75% women composers and 25% men composers, and so far we have met these objectives each year!
Applications are accepted until 1st December 2024 for the 2025 Film Music Festivals Academy Mentorship Programme. All applications also receive feedback and an initial mentorship 1-2-1.
