Originally from Buenos Aires, Argentina, Hernan started out as a guitar player at the age of 12. After finishing his studies at the Astor Piazzolla Conservatory in Buenos Aires, he got a scholarship to attend the prestigious Berklee College of Music, where he majored in Film Scoring. In 2018, he relocated to Utrecht, The Netherlands, where he got his Master’s Degree at HKU and works as a media composer, arranger and orchestrator.. He recently worked on the Dutch Horror film Jimmy alongside Amsterdam-based composer Michiel Marsman, which premiered in cinemas in August.

His music often features a mix of different kinds of guitars, South American Instruments such as the Ronroco, orchestral instruments, synthesizers and sampled sounds, which he uses to create unique sonic palettes specific to each project.

In May, Hernan received the Young Talent Award at Krakow Film Music Festival. He also participated in Soundtrack Cologne, where he was nominated for the European Talent Award in  the category Best Score in the 2023 & 2024 editions. In October, he will be attending Film Fest Gent as part of the WSA Third Character, a collaborative special event where selected composers collaborate with directors on a few score pitches.
