Jurrian Steman is a composer & orchestrator for film and video games. As a lifelong lover of music, he decided to turn his passion into his profession when he applied to the University of the Arts Utrecht in 2020. Now, four years later, with a degree under his belt he is ready to take on new and exciting projects.

His music is often playful and melodic taking inspiration from a variety of places such as classic jazz, orchestral works from the 19th and 20th century as well as minimalism and contemporary film music. He takes these inspirations and blends them together into his own music that accompanies any project he works on. While composing he loves to record as many live instruments as he can to give his music a raw and organic touch.

Currently, he’s working on several short films and games which have yet to be released. Besides writing to picture, he also writes concert music for wind and brass ensembles.

As an orchestrator he has worked alongside composer Boelie Vis contributing to the documentary “Lost City” and the children’s tv series “Saïd & Anna”
